Craft-Art Wood Makes Stunning Cameo Appearance on DIY’s House Crashers!

July 8, 2011

Homeowners Carly and Joe received a brand new Craft-Art Kitchen island on DIY Network’s House Crashers. Carly simply exclaims, “I love it!” when the show’s host, Josh Temple, explains that the countertop is “water locked” meaning that there are no paint products or laquer in that beautiful piece of wood.

The advantages of Craft-Art Wood abound when you think of all the main qualities not only desired but required from a solid wood top. One of the main highlights is that Craft-Art Wood is food safe– meaning, their tung oil finish, a natural organic product made from seeds, is the main barrier between your countertop and what’s for dinner!

White, the new “it” color of the season!

June 22, 2011

One of our favorite blogs “The Granite Gurus” posted today about “white” being the new hot trend for kitchen and bath design this year. So, I got curious and thought I’d browse around a bit to put their statement to the test. Sure enough, after typing in “White for Kitchens and Baths” one of the first in the search results was Better Homes and Gardens Magazine “Our Kitchen and Bath Magazines”.  Of course the title doesn’t lead directly into proving my point, but the beauty shots do. After seeing white kitchen after white bath, the underlying tone is that white is back.

One of the best surfaces on the market for a white kitchen is Corian Solid Surface. DuPont created this popular category more than 30 years ago and continues to earn trust and respect as time goes by. TWD Surfaces is a proud carrier of Corian and we would be happy to assist you as you design you kitchen (white or not) with this versatile, durable and beautiful countertop choice. Please take a look at the beauty shots below. Hopefully they’ll inspire you!

Saratoga Wax. Another Reason to Choose Saratoga Soapstone

April 6, 2011

To enhance its recently launched Saratoga Soapstone line, Artisan Group has created an organic, low-maintenance soapstone wax — Saratoga. Unlike mineral oil and competing products, the classic choice for soapstone darkening and protection, Saratoga Wax binds with the surface and is formulated to not readily show fingerprints. Saratoga is long-lasting, all natural, organic, non-yellowing and darkens soapstone to a nice luster without being sticky.

“Mineral oil evaporates and has to be reapplied frequently,” said Rick Seiders, Artisan Group Sales Manager. “After an initial two to three applications, Saratoga Wax only has to be applied every seven to 12 months, depending upon usage. Also, it is so natural; you can actually use it as a lip balm.”

Saratoga Soapstone Wax brings out a dark richness to the stone’s natural color and acts as a protective sealing layer. Saratoga Wax joins Firstline’s family of eco-friendly stone cleaners and sealers designed exclusively for the Artisan Stone Collection.
